1999 US Computer Go Championship

The 1999 US Computer Go Championship was held at the US Go Congress, in San Fracisco, on August 1st and 2nd.

There were four entrants, so we played a full round robin.

Prizes were:

First place: $250
Second place: $150
Third place: $50 gift certificate
Best new program: %40 gift certificate

Results:

1st place:  The Many Faces of Go, David Fotland, 3 wins
2nd place:  Gnugo, Free Software Foundation team, represented 
            by Daniel Bump, 2 wins
3rd place:  Smart Go, by Anders Kierulf, 1 win
4th place:  Teamgo, by Gary Boos and team, no wins

Gnugo won the best new program award. Every program won against the programs the finished below it.
