July 2001: Go4++ wins 21st Century Cup

There were 12 entrants including many of the top programs, but notably not including Goemate or Fungo.
Smartgo won the "New Star Prize". The biggest single upset was when GnuGo beat Wulu the reigning Ing Cup champion.
June 2001: Go4++ beats Many Faces of Go 4-0 to take top spot on computer go ladder.
February 2001: Goemate wins SNU-Garosu.com cup in Seoul, Prof. Chens first major win since 1998
